Thank you for testing MillMage!
Release Candidate users who see a "Your trial period has expired" notice when opening MillMage can request an extension to the update period by emailing the MillMage Trial ID to the Support team.
Find your Trial ID in the License Management window. Email your Trial ID to [email protected] to start your request. The duration of the extended update period may vary.

Users new to MillMage should follow the Getting Started guide.

This video features our sister software, LightBurn. While there may be slight differences in appearance and layout, the demonstrated processes are similar in MillMage.

Update MillMage
Upgrading to the latest version of MillMage gets you new features, improved machine support, and bug fixes.
This guide will help you upgrade your current MillMage installation to a new version. It's meant primarily for updating MillMage on the same computer, but we also have information on migrating MillMage to a new computer.

Upgrading to a New Version¶
Upgrading your MillMage installation on the same computer shouldn't affect your MillMage configuration, but it's still always a good idea to back up your MillMage configuration with a User Bundle and wait until you finish any critical, time-sensitive projects before upgrading.
Your project files aren't managed by MillMage and aren't touched by the upgrade process, but consider this your reminder to back them up as well.
Installing Release Candidates
MillMage is currently only available in Release Candidate, but even after the full release you can run Release Candidates to try new features alongside the live version. The Release Candidate and full release will install in separate directories, so you can run them side by side.
Update MillMage¶
- Create a User Bundle and save it as a backup. You shouldn't need it, but if something goes wrong during the upgrade process, you'll be able to restore your settings in a clean installation.
- Go to File → Bundles → Export Bundle.
- Make sure all the components of your MillMage installation that you want to backup are selected and click Export.
- Save the
.lbzipfile somewhere you can find it again easily.
- The upgrade process doesn't affect your project files, but if you don't regularly back up your project files, this is a great time to back them up as well. Save copies of your project somewhere you can find again easily.
- Download the new installer. Links are provided above.
- Close MillMage, if it's open.
- Install MillMage.
After installing a new version, MillMage should still have all your pre-existing settings. If you're installing a Release Candidate alongside your existing MillMage installation, MillMage will offer to import settings from your existing installation, if there aren't pre-existing settings.
If, for some reason, there is a problem with your MillMage configuration on the new installation, follow the directions for Importing a User Bundle to restore settings from your previous MillMage installation. This also works to bring settings from your main MillMage installation into a Release Candidate installation.
