Inconsistent Engraving Tone or Color
Description¶
Dark and light patches within your engraving.
Solution¶
Usually this is a product of inconsistencies within the material itself. Either it has natural variation, like the grain in wood, else the surface of the material might vary in distance to the laser so that it's moving in and out of focus. This is usually caused by warped materials, or materials with uneven thickness. Potentially this can also be a result of the machine's beam path not being properly aligned, or the gantry not being trammed (parallel) to the work surface.
