Operations Library
Millmage's Operations Library provides a way to save, organize, and apply preset Operations in your project. The Operations Library can be organized into folders for materials, endmill types, or any other organization method you prefer. Operations Libraries are device-specific.
Accessing the Operations Library¶
The Operations Library Window is not open by default. When opened, it defaults to the upper right section of the MillMage window. To open the Operations Library Window, go to Window → Operations Library.
To restore all MillMage windows to their default positions, go to Window → Reset to Default Layout.
Tip
The layout of MillMage is highly customizable. For more information on enabling and disabling windows and toolbars, or rearranging the default layout, see Customizing the MillMage Window.
Using the Operations Library¶
Continue reading for a brief overview on how to use the Operations Library, or jump straight to Options and Settings.
Create a Library¶
To use the Operations Library, you'll need to create a library and have it open in the Operations Library Window. Use the Create Library button to create a new library or the Open Library button to open an existing one.
Save an Operation¶
Save an operation from the Operations Window by right-clicking on the operation and choosing Save to Library from the context menu.
After saving the operation, you can organize, rearrange, and modify the saved operation from the Operations Library Window.
Apply an Operation¶
Applying an operation from the Operations Library functions similarly to applying an operation to shapes from the Operations Window.
With one or more objects selected, select the desired operation from the library and click the Apply button.
Options and Settings¶
Click any option in the image below to jump directly to the relevant section, or scroll down for a list of options and descriptions.
Operations List¶
The Operations Library displays a sortable list of saved operations, with an overview of each operation's settings. You will probably need to scroll sideways to see the full overview of the operations.
Editing Operations¶
Double-click on an operation in the Operations Library Window to open the Operations Settings Editor, where you can modify settings and rename the operation.
Organizing the Operations Library¶
There are a variety of ways to organize and modify operations within your library:
- Drag and drop to rearrange folders and operations. Folders can be nested within each other.
- Create folders by right-clicking on the name of the library or on an existing folder in the library and choosing New Folder from the context menu.
- Rename a folder by right-clicking on the folder and choosing Rename from the context menu.
- Delete a folder or operation by right-clicking on it and choosing Delete from the context menu.
- Click on the headers near the top of the Operations Library Window to sort the list according to that column. Click a second time to reverse the sort order.
Apply¶
With an operation selected in the Operations Library Window and one or more objects selected in the Workspace, click the Apply button to apply the operation to the shape(s).
You can also right-click on the operation and choose Apply from the context menu.
Open Library¶
