Secure the material stock to the CNC machine by following the CNC manufacturer workholding guidelines.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW CNC MANUFACTURER WORKHOLDING RECOMMENDATIONS CAN LEAD TO DAMAGED PROPERTY, BODILY HARM, OR DEATH.

Verify that the material stock is properly secured by vigorously pushing and pulling against the workpiece in all directions.

Secure Workpiece With Machineable Brads

Drive plastic, composite, or wooden brads (small pointed fasteners) through the workpiece and into the wasteboard to hold the workpiece in place, similar to the screw down method.

Pros

  • Can be machined without damaging the tooling unlike metal screws or nails
  • Minimizes the risk of damage to thin, lightweight, and delicate materials
  • Provides a low-profile and unobtrusive holding solution without impacting Z Axis machineable height

Cons

  • May not provide sufficient holding power for heavy materials
  • Material thickness can be limited by brad length
  • Minimal or no reusability compared to other methods
  • Additional equipment required
